Calling all amateur artists!

Local Roots is hosting a sticker contest for the first time! As we prepare a fresh restock of Local Roots fall merchandise, one of our market leads, Jordan, who has worked at the Co-op since 2022, suggested hosting a local art contest for a new sticker design. We thought it was a great idea, and a good way to celebrate creativity and our community. This contest is open to all ages. The winner will receive a $50 gift card to Local Roots, a Local Roots goodie bag, 5 stickers of their artwork to keep for themselves and share with their family and friends, and their sticker will be sold at Local Roots.

How it works:

1. The submission window will be Monday August 25th - Tuesday September 9th. 

2. Artwork can be submitted in person at Local Roots or digitally online, see below.

3. There will be one week, Sept. 10th - 17th, where our staff and customers will all contribute to choosing the winner. We will be posting a selection of the best designs at Local Roots for customers and members to vote on in addition to taking votes from our staff.

4. Winner will be announced on Monday, Sept. 22nd.

Rules:

1. Sticker design must fit within a 3in by 3in square. Can be in color, or black and white.

2. Artwork must be original, designed and produced by the exhibiting artist. No AI generated art please!

3. Artwork must be respectful and appropriate to be considered. Any topic of designs are welcome, but designs that are topically related to produce, carrots, farming, or our store name, Local Roots, will likely be favored.

4. The art will remain the property of the artist, but by submitting your entry, you agree to give Local Roots permission to sell the art as stickers specifically in the store. 

5. Only one design is required to enter, but each artist can submit up to three designs if they'd like.
