Try our Seasonal Community Supported Foods Program!

The Seasonal Eats CSF provides subscribers with local, seasonal foods, recipes, first access to seasonal favorites, and more. Subscribers will enjoy a bountiful array of fresh, locally farmed produce, artisanal value-added foods, and culinary delights curated just for you.

This vegetarian-focused subscription highlights the best of the season through produce-forward shares. While all shares are vegetarian, included recipes may feature optional meat additions for those who choose to incorporate them at home.

Throughout the season, shares may include a rotating mix of locally farmed produce, artisanal pantry items, and locally baked goods. Each share is curated based on what’s at peak freshness within our local network, with themed groupings designed to inspire creativity in your cooking and meal planning.

Pick-ups take place every other Friday from June 5 - September 11, 2026. Shares are available for pickup biweekly on Friday afternoons until the market closes, or the following Saturday morning. For optimal freshness, Friday pickup is recommended when possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

What might I receive in a share of the Seasonal Eats CSF?
All shares will include local foods encouraging and sharing ways our community can eat locally within our seasons.

Can I make substitutions?

Subscribers can indicate dietary restrictions upon sign-up. Disclaimer: we cannot guarantee there will be no cross contamination for other allergy preferences including but not limited to: peanuts, tree nuts, gluten, dairy, sesame, eggs etc. The Local Roots crew will do their best to accommodate preferences and allergies, but complete adherence may not always be possible.

Why is some of my produce stored in the refrigerator while other items are stored at room temperature?

At Local Roots, we store produce according to how it was handled and delivered by the farmer who grew it. Maintaining consistent storage temperatures helps preserve quality and shelf life. Some produce arrives to us directly from a farmer’s cold storage, while other items are harvested and delivered at ambient temperature. Abruptly changing an item’s storage temperature, for example, moving a tomato from cold storage to room temperature, can cause texture changes, moisture loss, or faster spoilage. In the case of tomatoes, this temperature shift can result in a soft or mushy texture and shortened shelf life. For this reason, you may notice that similar items are stored differently depending on how they were handled post-harvest. This approach helps ensure you receive produce in the best condition possible. How you choose to store items at home may differ based on when and how you plan to use them.

Will I receive printed recipes and share information with my pickup?

This season, all Seasonal Eats CSF materials will be provided digitally. Subscribers will receive an emailed document for each share that includes item details, storage notes, and links to recipes. Moving to a fully digital format allows us to reduce paper use, streamline preparation, and ensure you always have access to the most up-to-date information and recipes. Digital links also make it easier to view recipes on your phone, tablet, or computer while cooking. If you prefer a printed copy, you’re welcome to print the document at home for personal use.

How does the cost break down?

The subscription fee is $600 for 8 shares. It equals $75 per week. Online purchase will include a $17.70 processing fee for the total season cost. Credit card purchases in-store will incur our regular 4% processing fee. To avoid additional fees, pay by cash, check, or debit card in store.

What if I can't pick up my share?

If you are unable to pick up your share on the scheduled Friday or Saturday, Local Roots encourages you to have a proxy pick up your share for you on one of those dates. If any obstacles arrive please reach out to our CSF manager Kate Frichtl at kate@localrootswooster.com. Please refer to the vacation policy above for inquires on vacation pauses.

Can I join after the program has started?

We have offered pro-rated CSF subscriptions in years past, and will assess based on availability after the season has begun. For inquiries please reach out to our CSF manager Kate Frichtl at kate@localrootswooster.com.
